15th September 2020 A lovely walk by the River Alyn Day 176 in the UK

POST LOCKDOWN A lovely walk by the River Alyn Day 176 in the UK

A lovely walk in the Welsh countryside by the River Alyn today. It is a section just above Loggerheads with a part called Cascade Woods. The water looked lovely so I had a bit of a paddle, very cold but exhilarating. Looking forward to a walk up Cwm idwal at the end of the week, weather expected to be excellent. I have been visiting Cwm Idwal since I was 15 years old, my first geography field trip, and since then I have returned many times with school groups and the family. Even went up once winter looking for snow and made a snowman with our boys. This time I intend to go to the summit of Glyder Fawr via The Devil’s Kitchen. About time I did it!

Here are some pictures of when Oona, Joseph and I camped out on our way to climb Snowdon and and some others of when we tackled Scafell Pike. Did some paddling on the way up then too.

We had just completed the steep assent and there was this post into which people had jammed money. Bit odd?
This is almost always what the view from the top is, in this case Snowdon.
We had some wonderful views beneath the cloud base though.
View down to our camp site near the Tarn on our way up to Scafell Pike.
We all had a paddle in the steam, lovely warm day.

AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE I WILL STAY AT HOME, KEEP THE 2m RULE AND WEAR A FACE MASK

Staying at home! – STILL Protecting the NHS – STILL saving lives

I AM STILL Keeping safe

Stay safe.

Other matters today:

  1. I have had to download and reinstall Adobe’s ‘Creative Cloud’, lets hope that does the trick! Considering what we pay for Adobe and the Internet the quality leaves much to be desired, especially when your work depends on them.
  2. Bolognese from the freezer, expecting a food delivery tomorrow. Off to the Zoo tomorrow as well.
  3. Write this blog.
