POST LOCKDOWN ‘Out of the night that covers me’ Day 122

AND do you recognize this?

Staying at home! – STILL Protecting the NHS – STILL saving lives

I AM STILL Keeping safe

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Apparently and interestingly Nelson Mandela’s favourite poem. In the news because Andrew Mlangani imprisoned in 1964 with Mandela died yesterday and a recording of him saying the poem when Mandela died was on the BBC news.
Will try to learn something from this.

Other matters today:

  1. The Foundations of Yoga‘. ‘Dolphin Pose’. That’s me. I love to put flippers on when I am snorkeling and flap them together like a dolphin does its tail. it is a strong action and I cannot keep it up for long but it always feels more graceful than scissor kicking.
  2. Rainy day here again. Stayed in and did some reading. Also responded to inquiries.
  3. Here are some of that lovely couple featured in yesterday’s engagement shoot at Leasowe Castle.
Married at Sacred heart Church on the Wirral in 2012
    Sacred heart Church wedding.
    A beautiful September wedding day.
    Very happy together too.
All the friends there for the wedding reception at Peel Hay Guest House.
    Mum’s there to support.
    Mum hugs all around.
  4. Write this blog.

Spent all day with lovely Oona, oona doing the DIY today! Will join in tomorrow.
